Lathe Cut Vinyl Records produces mini vinyl records and playable vinyl postcard records using precision CNC engraving. Our formats include 3-inch records, 5-inch records, and 5×7 vinyl postcards — some of the smallest fully playable records manufactured in the United States.

These records are our most affordable custom vinyl option, ideal for artists, bands, direct-mail campaigns, wedding announcements, promotions, and limited releases. Each postcard record is engineered for real-world mailing and can be shipped with a standard postage stamp through the USPS, embracing the permanence of traditional snail mail with the impact of analog sound.

Unlike mass-produced manufacturing, our lathe-cut process allows short runs with fast turnaround while maintaining professional audio standards. Is this playable on all turntables?

No. Manual turntables or decks with full tonearm travel work best. Some automatic-return and suitcase-style players may not reach the grooves.

Which side plays the music?

The front side contains the audio. The back side is engraving only and does not play.

Why is the engraving reversed?

Backside engraving may appear mirrored due to the cutting process. This is normal.

Can grooves overlap the engraving?

Yes — this is visual only and does not affect playback. If you want engraving fully clear of grooves, note it at checkout.

How do postcards ship?

Can I add artwork to the playable side?

Yes. Vinyl postcards can be paired with picture-disc stickers on the audio side.

Will these play on all turntables?

No. Due to their smaller diameter, some automatic-return turntables may not reach the grooves. Manual turntables or decks with adjustable tonearms are recommended for best playback results.

Maximum runtime

Up to 2 minutes per side. Shorter audio is recommended for stronger groove performance and improved playback stability.

Single-sided or double-sided?

Both single-sided and double-sided formats are available. Double-sided records divide the available runtime between each side.

Speed & format

Typically cut at 33⅓ RPM in mono to support reliable tracking and consistent playback.
