Shipping Policy

Every record at Lathe Cut Vinyl Records is handmade — one at a time.
Below explains how your order is processed, packaged, and shipped.


Order Processing & Turnaround

Orders are typically cut, assembled, and shipped within 14 business days after final audio approval.
Orders that include printed artwork, engraving, or assembled jacket packages may take an additional 1–2 weeks for design setup, print proofing, or engraving completion.
Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details.


Packaging

All records are packed in white paper sleeves inside premium vinyl mailers for safe transit.
We pack up to 10 records per mailer — larger quantities will ship in multiple mailers.
Multi-item orders may ship separately to protect your records and artwork during transport.


Domestic Shipping (U.S.)

All U.S. vinyl record orders ship via USPS Media Mail to keep costs low for artists and collectors.
Media Mail shipments may include records only — no jackets, stickers, or printed materials are allowed under USPS policy.

Stickers, center labels, jackets, lyric sheets, and other printed materials ship separately via USPS First Class or Priority Mail, depending on weight.
Engraved records are shipped with the vinyl record in the same mailer.

This separation keeps shipping affordable while maintaining full USPS compliance for handmade recorded media.


International Shipping

All international orders are shipped via USPS International Services for consistent global coverage and tracking.
We may package records and printed items separately to ensure safe transit and accurate customs declarations.

International buyers are responsible for all customs duties, VAT, import taxes, or local postal fees charged by their country.
These charges are billed directly by your local postal system and are not included in our product or shipping prices.

We declare all shipments as “Handmade Vinyl Record – Origin USA” to minimize duties wherever possible.
If customs fees are refused or unpaid, the parcel may be returned or destroyed by the destination postal service.
Orders returned due to unpaid import charges, incorrect addresses, or delivery refusal are not eligible for refund, but can be reshipped if returned safely and new postage is covered.


Stickers, Labels & Jackets

Due to USPS Media Mail restrictions, all non-audio items (stickers, center labels, jackets, lyric sheets, and printed add-ons) are shipped separately.
This ensures compliance and helps protect handmade items during shipping.

Artists are encouraged to apply their own labels or assemble their jackets — it’s part of what makes each lathe-cut record personal, handmade, and true to the art.


Tracking & Coverage

All shipments include tracking information.

  • USPS Priority Mail and USPS International services include up to $100 of carrier coverage.

  • USPS Media Mail and First Class Mail do not include insurance.

Once a shipment is marked “Delivered”, responsibility transfers to the buyer.
If a parcel is returned to sender due to customs refusal or nonpayment, the buyer is responsible for any re-shipment costs.


Shipping Issues

If your order arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days of delivery with clear photos of the record and packaging.
If tracking shows “Delivered” but you haven’t received your item, please check with your local post office first.

We cannot file claims or issue replacements for uninsured or confirmed “Delivered” packages.


Agreement

By placing an order, you agree to these terms and acknowledge that handmade and custom items are final sale and exempt from standard return or cancellation policies under U.S. and international consumer law.
