Returns & Refund Policy

Last Updated: August 26, 2026

Many products and services sold by Lathe Cut Vinyl Records, operated by George Wade Paulin LLC, are custom-made, customer-specific, individually manufactured, specialty materials, consumable professional tools, or services performed specifically for the customer.

Except where required by applicable law or expressly agreed by us in writing, all products and services are FINAL SALE and are not eligible for voluntary returns, exchanges, or refunds.

1. Final Sale

Products and services covered by this policy include custom lathe-cut records, engraved and specialty records, artwork and printed products, diamond cutting styli, stylus shanks and cutting supplies, record blanks, accessories, audio services, mastering, sequencing, engraving, custom manufacturing, and related products and services.

We do not accept voluntary returns or exchanges because of:

  • Change of mind or buyer's remorse

  • Ordering the wrong product, size, quantity, color, option, or configuration

  • Customer equipment incompatibility

  • Customer error

  • Incorrect installation, operation, processing, or use

  • Changed project requirements

  • A product no longer being needed

  • Customer preference after manufacture or delivery

Nothing in this policy eliminates rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

2. Custom Products & Services

Custom records, artwork, labels, jackets, engraving, picture discs, custom-cut blanks, printed products, and other personalized or customer-specific products are manufactured specifically for the customer.

Once customer-specific production or preparation has begun, voluntary cancellation, return, or exchange may not be possible.

Customer-specific work may include audio preparation, mastering, sequencing, record cutting, engraving, artwork preparation, printing, label application, assembly, custom blank cutting, material preparation, or other production work.

Completed services, rush-production fees, design or artwork work, audio preparation, custom material preparation, and other labor already performed are non-refundable except where required by law.

3. Customer-Supplied Audio, Artwork & Specifications

Customers are responsible for reviewing and submitting the correct audio, artwork, specifications, dimensions, quantities, programs, options, and other production information.

Customer-submitted or customer-approved errors are not manufacturing defects.

This includes, for example:

  • Incorrect audio, song, version, mix, master, sequencing, or side assignment

  • Incorrect or incomplete production instructions

  • Incorrect artwork, spelling, layout, or design

  • Incorrect customer-selected product, size, quantity, or option

  • Customer-approved production files or proofs

  • Customer-supplied or customer-approved dimensions or specifications

The products, quantities, programs, options, and services actually purchased determine what is included in an order. Supplying additional files or materials does not automatically purchase additional products or services.

Detailed audio, artwork, sequencing, PQ-sheet, runtime, and production requirements are provided through our applicable product pages, FAQ, production instructions, or Terms of Service.

4. Reporting an Incorrect or Defective Product

If you believe we shipped the incorrect product or that an order contains a manufacturing defect for which Lathe Cut Vinyl Records is responsible, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

We may request reasonable documentation necessary to evaluate the claim, including:

  • Order information

  • Photographs

  • Video or audio

  • Measurements

  • Packaging photographs

  • Equipment or setup information

  • Other information relevant to the reported issue

Customers should stop using, cutting, installing, modifying, engraving, printing, processing, or otherwise altering a product after discovering a suspected defect when continued use could prevent us from determining its original condition or the cause of the reported problem.

We may request inspection, testing, measurement, or return of an affected product before approving a remedy.

5. Remedies for Verified Errors or Defects

When we determine that an error or manufacturing defect is our responsibility, the appropriate remedy may include:

  • Correction

  • Repair

  • Re-performance of a service

  • Replacement

  • Exchange

  • Store credit

  • Refund when appropriate or required by law

  • Another reasonable resolution

Because many products are custom manufactured, replacement, correction, or re-performance will generally be the preferred remedy when reasonably possible.

A verified issue affecting one product does not automatically establish that every product in an order is defective.

6. Lathe-Cut Records

Lathe-cut records are individually manufactured and may differ from mass-produced pressed records.

Reasonable characteristics associated with the lathe-cut manufacturing process are not necessarily defects.

Playback can also be affected by the customer's turntable, cartridge, stylus, tonearm setup, tracking force, anti-skate, source audio, and other playback conditions.

A playback problem occurring only on particular equipment does not by itself establish a manufacturing defect.

We may request testing on another properly operating playback system when reasonably necessary to evaluate a playback-related claim.

Customer-submitted or customer-approved audio problems, sequencing errors, incorrect versions, side assignments, excessive runtime, source distortion, or other conditions contained in customer production materials are not manufacturing defects.

7. Artwork & Printed Products

Customers are responsible for reviewing customer-supplied or customer-approved artwork, spelling, layout, colors, dimensions, product selections, and quantities.

Reasonable differences may occur between digital displays and physical printing, engraving, cutting, positioning, trimming, materials, and finishes.

Customer-approved artwork errors and reasonable manufacturing variation are not manufacturing defects.

8. Diamond Cutting Styli & Cutting Components

Diamond cutting styli are final-sale consumable precision tools.

Customers are responsible for confirming compatibility with their cutter head, mounting arrangement, equipment, cutting material, heating system, and intended application.

Stylus service life varies according to cutting material, material cleanliness, stylus heat, alignment, cutting force, groove parameters, equipment condition, handling, contamination, installation, operator technique, and other operating conditions.

Unless expressly provided in a specific written warranty, we do not guarantee a particular number of cutting hours, records, sides, grooves, or other service-life measurement.

Published tests, examples, estimated lifespans, or performance results do not guarantee identical results under another customer's equipment or operating conditions.

Damage, wear, or failure caused by customer installation, alignment, heating, cutting parameters, impact, contamination, handling, modification, incompatible equipment or materials, or normal wear is not a manufacturing defect.

A stylus reported as defective may be required to be returned for inspection before a remedy is approved.

Stylus shanks, collets, adapters, heat-wire components, and related cutting supplies are specialized components. Customers are responsible for determining their compatibility and suitability before purchasing and using them.

9. AccuPoint A145 Re-Sharpening Exchange Program

The AccuPoint A145 re-sharpening program is an exchange program, not a repair-and-return service.

Only eligible genuine AccuPoint A145 diamond cutting styli are accepted.

When an eligible stylus is submitted, the customer receives an eligible previously used AccuPoint A145 stylus that has been professionally reconditioned and freshly sharpened. The customer should not expect to receive the same physical stylus submitted.

Submitted eligible styli become part of the exchange inventory.

Ineligible styli may be rejected. If rejected, the customer may pay the applicable shipping charge to have the stylus returned or authorize us to dispose of it.

If return shipping is not paid or disposal instructions are not provided within 30 days after notice, the rejected stylus may be considered abandoned and disposed of.

The exchange program does not create a general return or exchange right for newly purchased diamond styli.

10. Record Blanks & Supplies

Record blanks, accessories, and related supplies are final sale except where otherwise required by law.

Record blanks are manufactured products and may have reasonable manufacturing variation in dimensions, thickness, center holes, edges, flatness, surface appearance, color, material characteristics, and other physical properties.

Customers requiring a specific finished dimension, tolerance, material characteristic, or other specification must obtain written confirmation before ordering.

Customers are responsible for determining whether blanks are suitable for their lathe, spindle, fixture, cutter head, stylus, cutting process, printing or engraving process, equipment, and intended application.

Custom-cut or custom-sized blanks manufactured according to customer-supplied or customer-approved specifications are not defective merely because the customer later determines that a different specification was required.

Customers should inspect and test blanks before substantial processing or high-volume use.

Cutting, engraving, drilling, heating, printing, coating, machining, or otherwise modifying a blank constitutes use. Damage caused after delivery by customer processing, equipment, handling, contamination, storage, or other customer-controlled conditions is not a manufacturing defect.

11. Shipping Damage

If an order arrives visibly damaged during shipment, contact us within 7 days of delivery and retain the complete shipment and original packaging.

We may request photographs of the shipping container, label, internal packaging, protective materials, damaged product, and visible package damage.

Discarding the original packaging before a claim has been reviewed may prevent us from verifying shipping damage or pursuing an available carrier remedy.

Additional shipping terms are contained in our Shipping Policy.

12. Returned, Refused & Unclaimed Shipments

If an order is returned because of an incorrect or incomplete customer-provided address, refused delivery, failure to claim the package, customer relocation, unpaid duties or taxes, incomplete customs requirements, or another customer-related delivery issue, the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the order again.

Original shipping charges and completed rush-production services are not refundable merely because a shipment was returned.

International customers are responsible for applicable duties, VAT, GST, import taxes, customs charges, brokerage, postal handling charges, and other destination-country charges unless expressly stated otherwise.

Additional international and freight-forwarding terms are contained in our Shipping Policy.

13. Approved Refunds

Refunds are not the standard remedy for custom products, final-sale products, or completed services.

When a refund is required by applicable law or specifically approved by Lathe Cut Vinyl Records, it will normally be issued to the original payment method.

Shipping charges, completed services, rush fees, mastering, sequencing, artwork preparation, engraving, printing, custom material preparation, and other completed work are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Processing time for an approved refund depends on the payment processor, card issuer, bank, or financial institution.

14. Relationship to Other Policies

This Returns & Refund Policy should be read together with our:

  • Terms of Service

  • Shipping Policy

  • Applicable product and collection-page terms

  • Applicable custom invoice or written agreement

Product-specific terms may contain additional requirements applicable to a particular product or service.

Where a product-specific term addresses a matter more specifically than this general policy, the more specific applicable term governs to the extent the provisions can reasonably be read together.

Nothing in this policy limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

15. Policy Updates

We may update this Returns & Refund Policy as our products, services, production processes, and business practices change.

The version applicable when an order is placed governs that order unless applicable law requires otherwise.
