Returns & Refund Policy

Every record at Lathe Cut Vinyl Records is handmade to order — one at a time. Because of the custom nature of our work, all sales are final once production has begun.

This policy outlines the conditions for returns, replacements, and refunds for all products purchased through lathecutvinylrecords.com.


All Sales Are Final

Each lathe-cut record, engraved disc, postcard, and printed piece is produced individually by hand.
Once your order enters production or has been cut, it cannot be canceled, refunded, or exchanged.

We do not accept returns based on personal preference, audio content, color differences, or minor surface marks typical of handmade records.


Damaged or Defective Orders

If your order arrives damaged in transit or shows a verified manufacturing defect, contact us within 7 days of delivery.

Include:

  • Your order number

  • Clear photos or video of the damage or defect

  • A brief description of the issue

After review, we will determine whether a replacement or partial refund is appropriate.
We may request return of the defective item before issuing a replacement.


Non-Returnable Items

Because each item is made to order, the following are not eligible for return or refund:

  • Custom lathe-cut records, engraved discs, or postcards

  • Records that play correctly but include normal visual imperfections (fogging, swirls, or light tool marks)

  • Orders refused or unclaimed due to unpaid customs, duties, VAT, or import fees

  • Packages returned by foreign postal services because of unpaid import charges or delivery refusal

  • Shipments delayed, lost, or marked “Delivered” by USPS

  • Items damaged by improper handling or playback equipment


International Returns & Unpaid Duties

International buyers are responsible for all customs duties, VAT, import taxes, and local postal fees.
If you refuse to pay these fees, or your parcel is returned by your country’s postal or customs service, the item will not be refunded or replaced.

If the parcel is returned to us safely, we can resend it once new shipping costs are paid.
If the parcel is destroyed or lost in customs due to nonpayment, we are not responsible for replacement or refund.


Shipping Damage & Lost Packages

If your package arrives visibly damaged, document it with photos before opening.
For USPS shipments, we can help file a carrier damage claim if coverage applies (Priority Mail or International only).

USPS Media Mail and First Class Mail do not include insurance — we cannot replace or refund uninsured packages once marked “Delivered.”


Refund Processing

Approved refunds or replacements will be processed once we confirm the issue.
Refunds (if applicable) are issued to the original payment method only.
Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.


Custom Order Disclaimer

By placing an order, you acknowledge that:

  • Every record is custom-cut and handmade, not mass-produced.

  • Small cosmetic differences, surface variations, or noise floors are part of the format.

  • These variations do not qualify as defects or grounds for refund.
